Description We are looking for an individual to assist in the
technical accounting review of revenue related items in addition to
assistance with our monthly and quarterly GL activities. As a
member of our team, you will learn the ins and outs of Rackspace
including our product offerings and our customer contracts. You
will work cross-functionally with teams throughout the business
including sales, finance, and product. This role has a significant
impact on our accounting organization and visibility among CFO
leadership. You will enjoy combining your technical accounting
expertise and GL accounting process knowledge to help Rackspace
address new and exciting challenges. This role will report to the
Senior Manager Revenue Recognition and will be part of the Revenue
Accounting team. Senior Revenue Accountant job duties: Analyze and
research revenue accounting matters including new product launches
and unique customer arrangements. Prepare accurate and
comprehensive documentation around accounting conclusions reached.
Assist with ad hoc projects and questions. Enhance existing
processes by identifying efficiencies or proposing new ways to do
things. Review and approve journal entries, PBCs, and analytics.
Provide support and guidance to direct team members and other parts
of the business as necessary. Ideal candidate will have the
following: Extensive knowledge of revenue recognition in US GAAP
under ASC 606. Experience researching complex accounting issues.
Excellent time and self-management skills, the ability to
prioritize and meet deadlines. Preference for working in a fast
paced and challenging environment. 2+ years of public accounting
experience (Big 4 or large regional audit firm preferred).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CPA candidate
preferred. Knowledge of and basic ability to read and write SQL a
bonus. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
Understanding of Oracle e-Business Suite and Hyperion Financial
