Job Description:
Description Works with the Administrative Coordinator to manage
the overall administrative operations of the Department of Economic
and Tourism Development. Performs advanced administrative support
work requiring an awareness of all activities, events and programs
of the department. Responds to a variety of inquiries from
citizens, visitors, businesses and staff concerning events,
programs, policies or situations based on knowledge gained through
experience. Exercises independent judgment, courtesy and tact in
responding to inquiries. Minimum Qualifications High school
graduate, including or supplemented by applicable course work, and
3 years of experience in administrative work; or any equivalent
combination of education and experience. Requires knowledge of
Munis Software System. Comprehensive knowledge of office systems,
practices, procedures and administration. Must have thorough
knowledge and ability to monitor and manage budget expenditures
during the fiscal year. General knowledge of web content
management, leadership techniques, principles and procedures to
assign work, schedule, supervise and train, evaluate the work of
assigned staff. Personal computer experience using word processing,
graphic design, and spreadsheet software required. Must be familiar
with best practices for social media marketing. Requires the
ability to analyze and evaluate procedures and work methods, and to
exercise appropriate judgement in establishing priorities for
multiple tasks and work methods. Possession of a valid driver's
license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with good driving

citizens, visitors and businesses in responding to inquiries and
complaints, and must exercise judgment and initiative in completing

and equipment including office equipment such as computerized data
entry equipment, a copier, printers, etc. Sedentary work involves
sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for
