Texas-based civil construction contractor specializing in
underground utilities, dirt work, and earthwork across commercial,
residential subdivision, and industrial projects. With a strong
field-driven culture and a team of 50–150 employees with many
projects dedicated to underground infrastructure we take pride in
building reliable systems that support expanding communities
throughout Texas. We’re looking for an experienced Underground
Utility Superintendent who thrives in the field, leads from the
front, and knows how to keep projects moving safely, efficiently,
and on schedule. If you understand underground construction from
excavation to final inspection and can lead crews with confidence
we want to talk to you. What You’ll Do Field Leadership & Project
Execution - Direct day-to-day operations on utility construction
projects, including site preparation, excavation, pipe
installation, and infrastructure work. - Supervise installation of
sewer, water, storm drain utility projects - Oversee excavation,
trenching, grading, and installation of water, sewer, and storm
systems - Knowledge of GPS survey and construction staking and
generate as-builts - Coordinate crews, equipment, and
subcontractors to maintain production goals - Interpret plans,
specifications, and staking to ensure accurate installation -
Maintain organized jobsite workflow from mobilization, installation
through completion Safety Leadership - Promote and enforce a strong
safety culture across all crews - Lead daily safety briefings and
identify potential jobsite risks - Ensure compliance with OSHA
standards and company safety expectations - Investigate incidents
and implement corrective actions when needed Quality & Performance
Management - Maintain high standards of quality control - Verify
work meets project specifications, elevations, and tolerances -
Conduct routine field inspections and resolve deficiencies
proactively - Promote high workmanship standards across all phases
of construction Scheduling & Coordination - Collaborate with
Project Managers to meet production schedules - Coordinate material
deliveries, equipment usage, and manpower planning - Anticipate
challenges and adjust field operations to avoid delays - Manage the
flow of work, ensuring that all teams have the resources and
direction needed to meet project deadlines Communication &
Reporting - Serve as the primary bridge between field crews and
project management - Maintain accurate daily reports, quantities,
and progress updates - Support change order documentation and
as-built information - Resolve on-site challenges including issues
with personnel, materials, equipment, or unexpected project delays
Team Development - Mentor operators, foremen, and labor crews -
Build accountability, teamwork, and strong jobsite morale - Lead by
example with professionalism and work ethic What We’re Looking For
Experience - 5 years supervising underground utility or civil
construction projects - Strong background in: - Water, sewer, and
storm drain installation - Excavation and trench safety - Earthwork
and grading operations - Experience working in subdivision,
commercial, or infrastructure environments Skills & Knowledge -
Ability to read civil construction plans and grades confidently -
Working knowledge of GPS layout, surveying, or construction staking
preferred - Strong leadership and crew management abilities -
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills - Comfortable
working in a fast-paced field environment Requirements - High
school diploma or GED required - OSHA 30 Certification (or ability
to obtain quickly) - First Aid/CPR certification (preferred). -
Relevant certifications in construction safety, management, or
quality control (preferred) - Valid driver’s license - Ability to
work outdoors in varied weather conditions - Capable of lifting up
to 50 lbs and walking active jobsites daily Why FlowTX Civil? -
