Who We Are: We are a diverse team with contrasting degrees of knowledge and expertise tasked with providing high quality instrumentation support for one of the largest independent fuels and lubricants testing facilities in the world. Objectives of this Role: Our objective is to provide the most accurate, consistent, high integrity data to our clients through meticulous maintenance and calibrations of our chemistry apparatus and data acquisition and control systems.Design, modify, and construct instrument systems to support new testing requirements.Make repairs and suggest design improvements on existing instrumentation systems and processes.Perform all duties while complying with all quality and safety standards. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Be part of a team that performs both routine and unique calibrations throughout the Division while maintaining excellent quality records.We have a mature preventive maintenance program which helps us with providing consistent testing and minimizes down time and crisis situations.Ample opportunities to utilize your troubleshooting skills, such as instrumentation, electronics, electrical, pneumatics, plumbing, and mechanical.We have a high standard of quality for fabrication and possess talented craft technicians on our team.Communicate daily with SwRI project leaders, staff, clients, and vendors regarding work status, progress, problem/solutions, and testing results. Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or equivalentAssociates degree in Electronics or Instrumentation is preferredShift work required5-15 years: Experience in the Instrumentation field including comprehensive knowledge in troubleshooting and calibrations.Experience using various software's including Excel, Word, Visio, Altium and other custom programs that are used for communicating and configuring specialized instrumentsExperience with Interpret schematics, electronic diagrams, manuals as well as written and spoken instructions.Must be able to perform tasks while working solo and with fellow team members.A valid/clear driver's license is required Special Requirements: Job Locations: San Antonio, Texas For more information about this division, visit the Fuels & Lubricants Research home page.
