year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.

considered. Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support
educational settings in Gonzales, LA. This role involves providing
high-quality interpretation services for deaf and hard-of-hearing
students in a school environment, ensuring clear and effective
communication. The position requires some travel to various schools
within the region to meet student needs. Key Responsibilities:
Interpret oral communication into American Sign Language (ASL) and
vice versa to facilitate communication between students, teachers,
and staff. Assist with classroom activities by providing real-time
interpretation that promotes full participation. Collaborate with
educators and support staff to accommodate the communication needs
of deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Maintain confidentiality,
professionalism, and adherence to ethical standards. Travel to
multiple school sites as required for student assignments.
Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with
demonstrated interpreting experience. Prior experience working in
educational settings preferred. Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills. Ability to travel reliably within assigned
geographic area. Knowledge of deaf culture and educational
