Full-time Description Reports To: Campus Ministry Director FLSA
Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: M-F 8:30-5, flexible as needed based
on ministry needs Summary: The Campus Ministry Coordinator is
responsible for developing, sustaining, and expanding ministry
initiatives among students at the college and universities within
the geographic boundaries of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The
coordinator will work directly with the Director of Campus Ministry
and the Campus Ministry team in helping students who have never met
Christ to encounter Him, supporting those who have met Him to grow
in their relationship with Him, and equipping those who follow
Christ so that they can become apostles on their campuses and in
the community. Requirements Position Responsibilities: * Invent
approaches and original events to foster strong discipleship
programs; from specialized knowledge and experience in ministry and
theology, create opportunities to form students into leaders to
then accompany students in their faith journey. *Invent creative
theological content to engage students through official Campus
Ministry social media platforms. This includes fostering digital
student engagement and responding to student outreach from these
platforms. *Evaluate and assess theological content provided to
students to ensure all teachings and messages are consistent with
the teachings of the Catholic Church and any research and
evaluation necessary for digital content from official campus
ministry platforms. *Manage the quality of regular campus ministry
events which include but are not limited to: weekly Masses,
opportunity for confessions, Eucharistic adoration, service
projects, fellowship, and regular student meetings. This includes
all ranges of general operation of Campus Ministry; from discerning
large picture ministry planning to ensuring all details are covered
for needs of each gathering. *Exercise discretion and independent
judgement with respect to identifying pastoral needs of students
and responding appropriately. This includes the awareness of when
students need referral for guidance or services beyond the scope of
campus ministry. Operate within the Campus Ministry budget across
all campus ministry events and planning *Create or identify the
catechetical curriculum and model, to then teach and form students
preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation each year. *In
collaboration and consultation with the Director for Campus
Ministry, establish and implement strategic short- and long-term
office goals, plans, objectives, ministerial policies, and
operating procedures. *Establish and lead discipleship groups or
meetings with students to foster a culture of discipleship in
campus ministry. *Identify student leadership potential from within
involved students, to then spiritual guide and ministerially train
them as missionary disciples. This includes ongoing communication
and connection, at least weekly with these students. Discretion and
independent judgement will be needed for frequency and best
practices in this personal accompaniment. *In collaboration with
the Campus Ministry Team, recruit, supervise and train all campus
ministry volunteers. *Support the Events & Liturgies Coordinator in
implementing events to reach out to new students. These include new
and creative social and spiritual activities geared to reaching
different types of new students and students at different
thresholds of evangelization. Collaborate as an equal and
contributing member of the Campus Ministry team with the
Coordinators of each campus and remain in regular communication.
Regularly engage in personal growth, professional development,
theological study, prayer, charity and justice work, and spiritual
formation. Create and foster relationships with pastors and parish
staff near college and university campuses. Adhere to safety
training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary
measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information
or material obtained in the service with the organization to
include but not limited to constituent names and information,
services rendered to constituents, donors names and gifts, internal
and external investigations or results of any investigations, and
financial information. Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the
Faith and Morals policy is mandatory. Every employee is required to

organization. Performs other duties as assigned. * Essential
Functions - ADA Minimum Qualifications : Education : Bachelor’s
degree in Pastoral Ministry, Theology/Religious Studies or related
field. Experience : Minimum of 3 years’ experience in campus
ministry or ministerial accompaniment. At least 2 years’ experience
working as part of a team, exhibiting knowledge of group dynamics,
organization, communication, and leadership. License and
Credentials : Reliable transportation Valid driver license Valid
vehicle insurance Minimum Knowledge and Skills: Bilingual, Spanish,
preferred. Practicing Catholic with demonstrated expertise in
ministry Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills,
including writing, proof reading and speaking. Extensive working
knowledge of one-on-one discipleship, young adults ministry,
Communication, and presentation skills; Experience with computer
software, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media; Experience
serving as a witness to the Catholic faith: practicing personal
spiritual growth, evangelizing, answering theological questions,
and advocating for the teachings of Catholicism; Experience
building and fostering professional relationships with diverse
levels of constituent (students, college and university faculty or
administration, priests, parish staff, and Archdiocesan leaders)
Must be able to work in different weather climates; Must be detail
oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on
a team; Must have good critical thinking and problem solving
skills. Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position
includes up to 65% local and 5% overnight.
