Job Description:

The F-18 Mid-Level Mechanic will have the opportunity to execute their skills and knowledge experience in the restoration project of the F/A-18 fighter aircraft based in San Antonio, TX. The Service Life Modification (SLM) program has the responsibility to extend the life cycle of the U.S Navy Fleet inventory of all F/A 18s that are in proximity of their service life.

Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts.

Position Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Systems inspections, repairs and servicing.
• Overall corrosion inspections, analysis and repairs through engineering dispositions.
• Functional operational checks, with follow-on type maintenance to include but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, all a part of the ability to restore, extend new life and delivery back to the U.S Navy a dependable First Time Quality product capable of protecting the honorable service women and men that protect us.
  
  This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R.--120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  
  Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  
  • 
    
  • 3+ years experience in a maintenance or support role on military fighter platforms (e.g. F-16, F/A-18, T-45, A/V-8B, F-22, F-5, F-14, or F-15 and more) and/or commercial platforms.
  • 3+ years of modification experience at an airline or an MRO.
  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft systems installation processes.
    
    Typical Education/Experience
    
    Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
    
    This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
