Experienced F/A-18 Structures Mechanic to join their team in San
Antonio, Texas. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing
Defense Space and Security (BDS) business organization. -This
position is expected to be 100% onsite. -The selected candidate
will be required to work onsite at the listed location.Position
Responsibilities:
- Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and
structural components of moderate difficulty
- Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not
limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel
systems, and mechanical components
- Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems
in determining equipment malfunctions
- Applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and
or operation
- Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to
complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as;
blueprints or manufactures' manuals.This position must meet export
control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance
requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. -120.15 is
required. - "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent
resident, refugee, or asylee. -This position requires the ability
to pass an assessment during the training cycle.The position
requires compliance to SA Site Tool and FOD procedure.Basic
-Qualifications(Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience working as an aircraft mechanic
- 5+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering
drawings and schematics.
- Willing and able to work any shiftPreferred Qualifications
(Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with F/A-18/Fighter or Depot Level/Heavy Structures
maintenance.
- Knows how to read/interpret Blueprints, Engineering Drawings,
Service Bulletins, Work Orders and aircraft TO's (Tech
Orders).
- Identify if a fastener is a rivet, blind rivet, screw, hi-lock,
bolt, or lock bolt.
- Remove damaged screws without damaging surrounding
structure.
- Ability to perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal,
and installation to critical support structures and fracture
critical areas to preform structural modification and repair.
- Utilize advanced tools and equipment to fabricate, assemble and
install aircraft structural components.
- Familiarization with multiple materials such as titanium and
composites.
- Operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric
powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignment.
- Must be familiar with Hazardous and Lock Out Tag Out systems
applications.
- -Will be required to assist other team members General
Mechanics, Avionics and Electrics to ensure cost and schedule is
met. -
- Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues
to the program lead and manager.Relocation:High school diploma or
GED and typically 10+ years related experience or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.Relocation:This position
