Job Description Job Description Civil Engineer – Land Development We are seeking a Civil Engineer specializing in Land Development to join our team. This role requires expertise in industrial and commercial land development projects, encompassing everything from initial concept to final approval and construction. The ideal candidate should possess strong design skills and the ability to manage projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and advance permitting and approval processes. Responsibilities Develop and issue engineering drawings, design documentation, and technical reports for industrial and commercial land development projects. Perform engineering calculations related to site grading, drainage, stormwater management, water quality design, domestic water distribution systems, and sanitary sewer and other underground utilities. Manage land development projects by tracking schedules, deliverables, and milestones. Lead and coordinate permitting efforts, including preparing and submitting applications and responding to agency comments. Actively coordinate with municipalities, reviewing agencies, and stakeholders to push projects through entitlement and permitting processes. Collaborate with internal team members, clients, surveyors, and other consultants to ensure project progress and alignment. Support construction-phase services, including design revisions, clarifications, and responses to RFIs. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in land development or site civil engineering. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of local and state permitting and approval processes. Proficiency with civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in managing complex land development projects. Familiarity with grading and paving techniques. Knowledge of utilities and stormwater control facilities. Work Environment The position is full-time, requiring collaboration with a diverse team including surveyors and consultants. The role involves using civil design software and engaging in both office and field work to ensure project success. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bastrop, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
