autonomous and intelligent platforms. Position Overview: We are
looking for a skilled End of Line Mechanical Technician to join our
team on 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:30pm). This role is essential in
ensuring the mechanical systems and components of our autonomous
surface vessels are thoroughly tested, assembled, and meet all
specifications before they are delivered to the DoD. The ideal
candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical assembly,
testing, troubleshooting, and final inspection of complex
mechanical systems. You will work closely with engineers and
production teams to ensure the highest standards of mechanical
performance and reliability. Responsibilities Perform end-of-line
mechanical testing, troubleshooting, and validation of mechanical
systems for autonomous surface vessels. Conduct final checks and
diagnostics on critical mechanical components, including propulsion
systems, drive shafts, motors, actuators, and structural
assemblies. Use mechanical tools and equipment (e.g., torque
wrenches, hydraulic presses, vibration analyzers) to ensure systems
are functioning properly. Interpret mechanical blueprints,
technical specifications, and assembly instructions to assess and
troubleshoot systems. Work closely with engineers to identify and
resolve mechanical issues and implement corrective actions when
necessary. Ensure all mechanical systems meet performance, safety,
and compliance standards before vessels are shipped to clients.
Maintain thorough logs of test results, repairs, modifications, and
any deviations from standard procedures. Assist in the calibration
of mechanical systems and components used during production. Follow
all best practices and safety standards in mechanical work,
ensuring that all systems meet industry standards. Provide feedback
to design and engineering teams to optimize product designs and
improve mechanical processes. Assist with troubleshooting
mechanical problems in prototype vessels and provide support for
new vessel designs. Qualifications 3 years of experience in a
mechanical technician or similar role, ideally in a high-tech
manufacturing environment (experience with autonomous systems or
defense technologies is a plus). Strong knowledge of mechanical
systems, assembly processes, and troubleshooting techniques.
Proficiency with mechanical testing tools (e.g., torque wrenches,
hydraulic presses, vibration analyzers). Hands-on experience with
mechanical assembly, testing, and maintenance of complex systems.
Familiarity with industry standards for mechanical safety and
compliance (e.g., ASME, MIL-STD). Strong problem-solving abilities
and the capability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality
mechanical systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure
environment. Experience working with autonomous systems, unmanned
vehicles, or defense technologies. Knowledge of mechanical software
tools for system diagnostics and testing. Familiarity with the
assembly and integration of propulsion and power transmission
systems in unmanned vehicles. Physical Demands Ability to perform
physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12
hours/day Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to
20 lbs. The ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs Ability to
work outside for an extended period of time Frequently and
repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install vehicle parts of
varying size and weight overhead, accurately and in allotted
timeframes Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day,
including over varied and uneven terrain Stoop, lay, bend, reach,
squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time,
including up to 12 hours/day Climb and maintain balance on ladders,
platforms, or other high structures Ability to find issues in a
work process and be alert to safety signals using sight, touch, and
hearing Demonstrated ability to handle and manipulate tooling and
mechanically fasten bolts within required cycle time Exposures to
hazardous materials and ability to follow waste handling/disposal
