As a Senior Engineer, you'll create and execute design solutions that support H-E-B's brand and design standards. You'll collaborate and guide internal / external design teams to ensure they are delivering on-time, quality documents that meet H-E-B's design criteria and budget. You'll identify and advance innovative technologies that lower H-E-B's total cost of ownership and enhance our Customer's experience across all retail channels. We are looking for:* a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field* 8 years of retail engineering experience What is the work? Engineering:* Researches / analyzes design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of design* Works with Construction team to resolve outstanding issues; recommends best to fix or remove issue* Performs field inspections to review construction work for conformance with design drawings, applicable codes, and company policies* Ensures work is done to meet all applicable codes in accordance with international and local regulatory requirements* Participates in an information sharing forum with H-E-B consulting engineers* Serves as subject matter expert to ensure H-E-B compliance with legal guidelines and safety and environmental requirements* Contributes to decisions related to H-E-B strategic objectives, program standards, and budget planning* Interacts with city governments and architectural review boards regarding regulation / code compliance* Manages civil / site design standards, to include water quality / re-irrigation utility infrastructure, mass grading, retaining walls, landscape, offsite roadway improvements, parking lots, impact fees* Analyzes construction costs for civil works* Checks construction documents for completeness / correctness* Serves as a liaison to Real Estate; reviews lease contracts, easements* Implements H-E-B sustainability standards, including coordination of LEED submittals and communication to others* Directs efforts to establish / implement maintenance standards* Works with consulting engineers; assists design architects with questions / concepts* Provides technical assistance to contractors* Mentors / shares technical expertise with other Partners Project Management:* Manages projects from conception through completion, while effectively communicating with consultants; manages overall timelines and milestones for multiple projects* Performs code research and assessment, including ADA, sanitation and building codes, and environmental regulations* Makes project site visits; recognizes, documents, resolves design issues for compliance with design intent and the construction documents* Serves as an expert; provides direction and strategic guidance to design development and process improvements* Provides outstanding customer service that delivers solutions to meet or exceed customer expectations relative to design, image, productivity, and quality* Develops clear work plans, processes, and action steps that support H-E-B's overall strategies and achieve results* Identifies / recommends systems, materials, and solutions that deliver creative low-cost solutions to minimize a project's cost of occupancy* Mentors / guides team members; provides leadership and expertise to cross-functional teams* Interacts with multiple entities, including city governments and architectural review boards regarding regulation / code compliance What is your background?* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field* 8 years of experience in retail engineering* Professional engineer's license in the state of Texas (preferred) Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Sr Engineer?* Advanced knowledge of building systems and their coordination / integration (structural, architectural, MEPR), building codes, environmental regulations, handicap accessibility codes and direct application, sanitation concerns / regulations, dynamics / application of site and landscape design, appropriate materials use / methods of construction* Strong project management skills* Computer application / software skills, including AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office* Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects* Ability to use 2D / 3D presentation graphics* Ability to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and collaborative work style in a fast-paced retail environment Can you...* Function in a fast-paced retail environment* Travel by car or plane with overnight stays* Work extended hours 07-2018 REAL3232
