Mission Lane's Fraud Team is looking for a leader to join our geographically diverse team. We are based primarily in Richmond, VA and San Francisco, CA, and are open to considering remote candidates. This role entails specifically, the establishment and management of the Fraud function to support Mission Lane's Debit product. This is a key role essential to safely scaling our Debit business. You will lead the Debit Fraud function to support the meeting of enterprise goals via developing and maintaining fraud defense strategies.

In this role you will:
Own the end-to-end of Fraud strategies for the Debit product
Articulate, own and deliver Fraud strategies for the Debit business
Be a critical participant in delivering a brand and product defining customer experience
Articulate, and actively manage, P&L impacts of Fraud losses & management costs
Partner with relevant teams to ensure that Fraud risks and requirements are well understood, and delivered against
Develop data driven strategies to manage Fraud risks and provide a delightful customer experience
Identify fraud risks across the customer lifecycle
Identify, develop and bring to market, required strategies to manage these risks
Identify relevant 3rd parties to deliver Fraud solutions, and manage such relationships
Leverage a hypothesis driven approach to solving problems, enable foundational testing and build critical learnings for go-to-market strategies and continuous improvement
Partner with Data Science to develop and refine solutions that drive value through nuanced and advanced decisioning
Develop your career, and build a high-performing team
Be a part of a well-funded fintech with a track record of achieving high growth goals
Work cross-functionally on initiatives with c-suite visibility alongside product, data science, and account management teams
Recruit new talent to build out the team - coach direct reports to support their career development

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Mission Lane is looking for candidates who have:
5-8 years of experience in roles directly engaged with developing strategies to manage Debit Fraud risk
Proven ability to problem solve end-to-end: from framing the question and forming a hypothesis, to analyzing the data and implementing customer facing strategies
Familiarity with SQL, python, or other tools for data analysis
Bachelor's or Masters in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar quantitative field with record of strong academic performance

Bonus points for:
Experience helping scale a business in a fast-paced startup environment
Expertise in analytic and modeling tools (SQL, Python, R, etc)
