As the manager of Actuarial Consulting, you will manage project teams in the delivery of consulting services involving complex mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling. You'll have the opportunity to work with an inter-disciplinary team, develop data analytic tools in a fast moving and dynamic team environment. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S., or in Eden Prairie, MN or NY, as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy predictive data models on large data sets
  • Use statistical, data science and machine learning skills to perform analytics using healthcare data
  • Perform quantitative analysis on Actuarial, financial, utilization and costs data
  • Assist in developing consulting offerings, products and services solutions that align with key market needs and or client initiatives
  • Mentor and develop a team of consulting actuarial students and junior data analysts
  • Direct and review work of analysts in the department
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with our broader teams
  • Serve as key resource on complex and/or critical issues - You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: - - - - - - - -
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 6+ years of Actuarial/Analytical/Data Science experience
    • 2+ years of Project leadership/management experience
    • Experience leveraging traditional and non-traditional data assets
    • Experience in large file transfers and/or manipulations
    • Experience and/or exposure in dealing with health care claims experience (i.e., understanding of costs, expected claims, diagnosis codes, procedure codes)
    • Advanced level of proficiency using SAS, SQL
    • Proven problem-solving skills (identification of issue, causes, solution, implementation plan)
    • Experience interacting with senior management
    • Expertise working with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs in MS Excel Preferred Qualifications: - - - - - - -
      • Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
      • 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing analytics with machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and/or other related data science modeling techniques
      • 3+ years of hands-on experience in performing statistical and regression analyses
      • Advanced level of proficiency using R, Azure Databricks, Python, .net -

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900.
