Job Title: AVP Commercial Credit

Summary:
The AVP Commercial Credit manages a team of Credit Analysts and provides strategic leadership to the department as a whole. The AVP Commercial Credit is responsible of the training, development & review of applicable employees work and the financial review of credits with regard to financial analysis and credit worthiness. The Position reports to and works closely with the Chief Credit Officer and also works closely with the Chief Lending Officer and all lending staff.

Based on experience and scope of the selected candidate's skills, this position may be classified at the Director or AVP.

Wage Type: Salaried Exempt

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

--- Management of team of credit analysts through these activities:

o Trains and develops Credit Analysts. Training will consist of on-the-job training as well as outside seminars, conferences, etc. This may include creating written training materials, meeting one-on-one with team members, and holding group training sessions.

o Reviews of spreads, cash flow models, and credit memos prepared by the analysts. The AVP Commercial Credit is responsible for the accuracy of such work and will provide constructive feedback for improvement.

o Reviews work for consistency with risk management parameters, regulatory compliance and return requirements.

o Serves as a subject matter credit expert for the Credit Team and related departments. Assists with determining appropriate loan structures and participates in customer/prospect calls, as requested.

o Assists in assurance of proper risk management through timely risk ratings of credits/relationships.

o When requested, acts as primary contact for lending team and assigns work to the Credit Team as appropriate. Manages Credit Dept. Pipeline.

o Manages day-to-day and annual HR functions of the Department with respect to PTO, employee performance reviews and salary and other personnel related recommendations, etc.

o Provides mentorship to Credit Analysts under management.
--- Ensure that work within the Department meets established policies and that proper procedures are followed. Makes recommendations to improve policies and procedures.
--- Makes recommendations regarding improved operating systems and vendors to improve performance and efficiency. Manages any applicable credit templates, vendor relationships and ad-hoc projects.
--- Assist in setting strategic direction for the Department.
--- Keeps current on economic trends and developments.
--- Attends applicable meetings and conferences to include representing the Bank at various functions.
--- Carries out responsibilities with a commitment to process excellence, the highest
professionalism, respect for others, and in accordance with the organization's policies
and applicable laws.
--- Any other duties as assigned.

Organizational Structure:

Reports to: Chief Credit Officer
Supervises: Team of Credit Analysts

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills:
--- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Economics. MBA preferred.
--- Minimum 3 years commercial credit underwriting, commercial loan operations, or lending
experience.
--- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Credit Manager.
--- Minimum 3 years supervising others

--- Formal credit training

--- Financial, Fintech, or Banking related experience
--- Intermediate to advanced understanding of commercial real estate and C&I lendingpractices, credit underwriting, and loan participations
--- Intermediate to advanced understanding of loan documentation requirements and
government regulations for commercial and industrial real estate loans.
--- Ability and desire to work a fast-paced team environment
--- Excellent administrative and PC skills to include Microsoft Office and analysis software
products.
