This role aids in ensuring that manufacturing commitments are achieved by the plant managers, and that safety, procedural, and regulatory standards are maintained. In addition, the Director of Manufacturing Operations will assist with the development and execution of manufacturing strategy, long range capacity planning, and make/buy analysis, and will collaborate with and provide support to peers in supply chain, marketing, design, risk, and product development functions.Essential Functions---Responsible for safety performance at assigned plants, partnering with plant managers and EHS to ensure potential safety and environmental risks are identified, that corrective actions are implemented, and that the manufacturing management team is engaged actively in ensuring a safe work environment.---Assist senior management with long range capacity planning, ensuring adequate manufacturing capacity in a 5-10 year window. Prepare assigned plants for continued growth; assist in scaling the operation in terms of processes, procedures, organizational development (particularly of management and lead roles) - partnering with HR, Supply Chain, and other functions.---Assist plant managers in meeting operational commitments, including quality, unit production, staffing, training, service level, and other key performance indicators.---Participate in annual capital and operational budget planning and execution, including variance management.---Responsible for partnering with plant managers and collaborating with Loss Prevention at assigned plants to ensure loss prevention risks are identified, that corrective actions are implemented, and that the manufacturing management team is engaged actively in ensuring appropriate inventory controls.---Assist in talent development, communication (including developing communication channels and ensuring information is effectively provided to all Associates), and performance management at assigned plants.Minimum Qualifications---Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.---Minimum 7 years of manufacturing management experience.---3 years direct supervisory experience of supervisor level team members. ----Experience with mentoring and developing manager level team members in effective human resources, quality and manufacturing management practices. ----Proven excellent communication, team building, training and organizational skills.---Comfortable with presenting to large and small groups.---Familiarity with production and inventory management software.---Ability to travel to manufacturing plants or vendors, as needed, to resolve production and/or equipment issues.
