Job Description:
This is an Executive level position whose objective is to manage
all programs of the San Antonio Food Bank including program
efficacy, program evaluation, program evolution, and program design
to meet the growing needs of the community. The Chief Program
Officer will be responsible for originating and maintaining
strategic relationships in the community that will benefit the

responsibilities --- Analyze and stay current on statistics
concerning poverty throughout the Food Bank Region as well as
trends across the country.
--- Review and analyze food access by partners and distribution
impact in the community.
--- Ensure fair and equitable distribution across our service
territory.
--- Investigate complaints that involve agencies, clients, and
other aspects of programs administered.
--- Receive, analyze, and input data on agency and programmatic
monthly report submissions.
--- Manage assigned resources e.g., financial, manpower, equipment,
and supplies, in an efficient manner for all programs of the San
Antonio Food Bank.
--- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
and laws for all programs including, but not limited to feeding
programs, nutrition programs, federal benefit programs, and
transformational programs.
--- Oversight and responsibility for all audit preparation and
outcomes by federal, state, and local entities.
--- Engage in collaborative relationships with other appropriate
staff for general information and/or action to include Chiefs of
other departments as well as team members across the
organization.
--- Attend conferences, meetings, and training/educational
workshops and ensure proper and regular training of all team
members within the programs department.
--- Ensure that all programs are operating in a synchronistic
manner and that individuals served are made aware of and benefiting
from all programs for which they may be eligible.
--- Direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for the Plans and
Programs Department programs; meet with the staff to identify and
resolve problems; assign work activities and projects; monitor
workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods, and
procedures.
--- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate personnel; provide or
coordinate staff training, work with employees to correct
deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
--- Establish and maintain a working environment conducive to
positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, and
teamwork.
--- Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Program
Directors.
--- Facilitate and maintain strategic partnerships in the community
to ensure program success and transformation services to
clients.
--- Assume the responsibility for other assigned duties by the
President and CEO.--- College degree in a relevant field or
equivalent work experience.
--- Experience in programmatic oversight and auditing.
--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
--- Skilled in computer applications specifically Microsoft
products and HRIS.
--- Good judgment and discretion.
--- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
--- Ability to organize work, time, and self.
--- Orientation to detail, accuracy, and the meeting of
deadlines.
--- Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and
volunteers.
--- Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety of
conditions.
--- Ability to supervise others and delegate appropriate tasks.
--- Possession of a current Texas driver's license, liability
insurance, and a clean driving record.The San Antonio Food Bank
