Salary Range: Up to $55,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

    Essential Functions

    Job Summary

    Function: The Assistant Director for Admissions Operations is responsible for processing and review of undergraduate admission applications, admission decisions, and implementation and maintenance of UTSA admission policies. As Assistant Director, daily responsibilities will also include leading a talented team of admission processing staff. This position assists the University and its partners in the growth of undergraduate enrollments by ensuring the accurate and timely execution of enrollment data processes.

    Core Responsibilities
  • Supervises staff that performs the assigned function and is responsible for assigning staff to projects and includes the participation in the recruitment, supervision and development of staff, performance evaluations, and performance management.
  • Prepares the reporting of data validation tables and monitors the integrity of data for the functional area. Prepares information and timetables to management for campus-wide distribution.
  • Assists administrators, students, faculty, and staff with special requests and problems of a complex nature. Offers solutions to management regarding student issues with appropriate staff in various offices.
  • Works with Senior Director and Associate Director to develop and implement new policies/procedures for Enrollment Operations activities, and coordinates with Information Technology appropriate computer support.
  • Participates in the testing of student record system improvements and upgrades in support of work done in the assigned area.
  • Trains staff and personnel from offices throughout the campus, on the use of the student information system and correct policies, procedures, and standards; and prepares training materials and documentation.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the undergraduate holistic committee review process and yearly updates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Periodic:
  • Prepares written reports for the Senior or Associate Director.
  • Oversees special projects.






    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in business operations and/or supervision over a functional support unit within enrollment management.
    • Direct experience with systems related to admissions and/or enrollment.
    • Strong organizational, analytical skills, and a strong system orientation with attention to detail.
    • Superior communication skills: oral, written and strong interpersonal skills. Also, the ability to communicate effectively with both non-technical users and highly technical staff.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Must be confident in the ability to work and make independent decisions, as well as work collaboratively within a team.
    • Proficiency in the use of software applications including Microsoft applications, databases, spreadsheets and word processing.




      Preferred Qualifications
      • Four or more (4+) years of direct experience with systems related to admissions and/or enrollment.
      • Three or more (3+) years of supervisory experience in business operations and/or supervision over a functional support unit within enrollment management.
      • Experience using Banner in a technical role.

          • Hybrid-Regularly: This position will require working both remotely and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable to working in both environments.
            Physical Demands:
            • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
            • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.


              This position will require working both remotely in Texas and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
