Job Description:
Transcend Hospice - Job Summary: Primary function is to assume
overall responsibility and authority for administrative and
leadership functions, supervision of the organizational plan, and
responsibility for ongoing communication with the Board of
Directors and IDT as well as Agency Staff.

Lines of Authority: Reports to the Board of Directors: Supervises
all management staff
Job Qualifications:
Education - - - - - - - - - - - - Be a licensed physician, RN,
licensed social worker, licensed therapist, or licensed nursing
home administrator with
And - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - at least one year
of management or supervisor experience in a health-related setting,
and an additional year of
Experience: - - - - - - - - - - experience in a health related
setting, such as stated under Experience; or have at least a high
school diploma or a general equivalency degree (GED) with at least
two years of management or supervisory experience in a health
related setting, such as a home and community support services
agency, hospital, nursing facility, hospice, outpatient
rehabilitation center, psychiatric facility, intermediate care
facility for persons with mental retardation or related conditions,
or a licensed health care delivery setting providing services for
individuals with functional disabilities. - -

Skills: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with all
segments of the staff, the lay and professional public, The Board
of Directors, and the Medical Director. Shall be able to read,
write, and comprehend English. Maintain twelve (12) clock hours
annually of education pertaining to job responsibilities. Comply
with training in Administration of Agencies; TAC 97.259 and/or TAC
97.260.
Environmental and Working Conditions: Works in an office
environment, promoting efficient functioning and coordination of
agency activities to insure the highest level of professional
patient care. Ability to work a flexible schedule; ability to
travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.

Physical and Mental Effort: Prolonged sitting is required. Requires
ability to handle stressful situations in a clam and courteous
manner at all times. Requiring working under some stressful
conditions to meet deadlines and agency needs.
Essential Functions:
Organize and direct Agency's ongoing functions, including
operational and organizational planning, budgeting and monitoring
progress toward operational and strategic goals. Insure
interdisciplinary care is provided and ethical business and
clinical practice are maintained.
Direct staff in performance of duties including admission,
discharge, transfer, revocation, and provision of services to
patients. Assure documentation of services provided is accurate and
timely.
Employ qualified personnel and ensure adequate staff education and
evaluation, including orientation, in service, continuing
education, and competency testing and performance improvement.
Insure maintenance of personnel records. Insure appropriate staff
supervision during all service hours and insure support services
are available to staff.
Ensure accuracy of public information, materials, and activities.
Maintain knowledge of service systems in the community served by
the agency and insuring services provided are approved by the
hospice.
Ensure Agency operates in compliance with federal and state law.
Takes action on reports from regulatory or inspection agencies.
Responsible for supervision and evaluation of family satisfaction
surveys. Manage conflict and complaint resolution.
Implement and monitor effective budgeting and accounting system
that promotes the health and safety of the agency's patients and
monitors business operations to insure financial stability. Insure
adequate space. Equipment, and supplies are available.
Insure completion, maintenance of required reports to the governing
body. Maintain an ongoing liaison with the governing body.
Participate in quality imp0rovement activities including
appropriate policies are developed and implemented to accomplish
identified outcomes. Evaluate services and staff against measured
outcomes. Insure actionable objectives are derived from the
evaluation of these services and personnel.
Evaluates program, services and personnel. Directs preparation of
annual report of operations and annual agency evaluation.
