POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in carrying out physical therapy treatment programs for inpatients and outpatients under the direction and supervision of licensed physical therapists. Performs technical work in all phases of patient treatment. Assists in maintaining safety and cleanliness of the patient care area, supplies and equipment in optimum condition to facilitate smooth operations. Participates effectively with other members of the health care team for maximum patient benefit and efficiency. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Associates Degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant program. Professional clinical experience not required. A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist assistant is preferred. LICENSURE Must have and maintain a current license to practice as a physical therapist assistant issued by the Executive Council of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider card.
