Description: This is a contract position in the Emergency
Department. The shift runs from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM. On-call
requirements are not applicable. The unit has 48 private rooms, 27
hallway stretchers, 9 fast track areas, and 5 behavioral health
beds. There are 111 staff members, including a day shift charge
nurse, mid-shift staff, patient care technicians, paramedics, and
licensed vocational nurses. Patient ratios are 1:4 for standard
emergencies, 1:5 for behavioral health, and 1:3 for cardiac/trauma
cases. Essential equipment includes Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level
1 Rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers. The unit follows
established policies and guidelines. Common procedures performed on
the unit include splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma
assists, central line placements, airway support, behavioral health
de-escalation, and resuscitation. Candidates are expected to be
multitaskers, team players, and self-starters. The dress code
requires navy blue scrubs. The unit has active committees for staff
engagement and recognition. New equipment and technology may be
introduced to enhance work efficiency. This is a competitive
