comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult
patients Description: The ICU RN provides comprehensive,
evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients
requiring continuous monitoring, advanced interventions, and
complex clinical decision-making. The RN functions as a patient
advocate, clinical expert, and collaborative team member within a
fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Provide direct nursing care in
accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Care for critically ill adult patients, including those requiring
mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions, invasive hemodynamic
monitoring, and post-operative or post-procedural critical care.
Perform ongoing, detailed patient assessments and reassessments.
Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms, lab results, arterial
blood gases, and hemodynamic data. Titrate medications per provider
orders and unit protocols. Identify subtle changes in patient
condition and initiate timely interventions. Manage emergency
situations, including codes, rapid deterioration, and complex
procedures. The ideal candidate will possess good communication
skills, a proactive nature, and strong initiative. Integrity,
responsibility, and a commitment to patient and family advocacy are
essential. Problem-solving skills and good teamwork are critical. A
foundational knowledge of pathophysiology is necessary. This is a
nurse-driven unit where critical patients are admitted by Internal
Medicine Physicians, who consult with Critical Care Physicians and
other specialists as needed. Critical Care Physicians round daily
on patients and are always available by phone. All staff
communicate via phone, ensuring connections among multidisciplinary
team members for communication and questions. Requirements Required
