Job Description Pediatric Otolaryngology Physician Opportunity
in San AntonioPosition Summary:The Department of Otolaryngology is
seeking a full-time Pediatric Otolaryngology Physician to join the
team in San Antonio. This role involves collaboration with faculty,
residents, and staff to deliver high-quality care to pediatric
otolaryngology patients. The position offers a competitive salary
and comprehensive benefits package.Job Duties: - Patient Care
Quality: Establish and conduct patient care reviews to analyze and
evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care within the
department. Review all clinical work, regardless of the
practitioners membership status in the department. - Clinical
Privileges: Recommend criteria for clinical privileges relevant to
the care provided in the department and recommend privileges for
each member. - Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence to medical staff
policies, sound clinical practices, and departmental integration
within the hospitals operations. - Coordination: Oversee and
coordinate patient care services with nursing and ancillary
services. - Quality Improvement: Convene meetings to discuss
quality and outcomes management findings, service activities, and
address opportunities to improve patient care. - Peer Review:
Function as the designated agent for peer review activities on
behalf of the department or Medical Executive Committee. -
Reporting and Recommendations: Submit reports on departmental
review activities and provide recommendations for maintaining and
enhancing care quality. - Education: Provide orientation and
ongoing education for all department members. Minimum
Qualifications: - Education: MD degree or equivalent, with
completed fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology - Certification:
Board certified or board eligible in Otolaryngology - Experience:
Background in caring for children with chronic illness and
knowledge of long-term medication management and drug interactions
- Skills: Strong physical assessment, diagnostic abilities, and
experience in patient and family education and care coordination -
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric
Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications This role provides a
