Always.Your success is the focus of our entire business.We are potentially hiring for a qualified civilian Physician Extender (PA/NP) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our veterans and their families at the Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) at Fort Sam Houston in Texas. Status: Fulltime Schedule: Shifts will vary, and hours of performance are established and approved by the Chief, Department of Medicine, shifts may include 8, 10, 12 hour shifts to include weekdays, weekends, and federal holidays Excellent financial package designed to attract compassionate, top performers Comprehensive benefits package to include major medical, dental, vision, and 401k Malpractice provided with tail coverage The Physician Extender (PA/NP) must have the following qualifications:Nurse Practitioner: Degree/Education: Shall hold a master's, post-master's, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) Certifications: In addition to Basic Life Support, Certified in the specialty required as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate. Shall have current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) by way of an American Heart Association approved training program All contract Nurse Practitioners must be register on the Internet based Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS). PECOS registration is for providers who treat MEDICARE eligible patients and is needed to order Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and have MEDICARE pay for it, DME would include canes, walkers, CPAP, home oxygen, TENS, etc. Must have or obtain a current, valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number prior to performing the contract services. Any change to the DEA requirements to obtain a valid DEA registration number is applicable when the incumbent's existing DEA registration expires Licensure/Registration: Shall have and maintain a valid, unrestricted license to- practice medicine from one of the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or US Virgin Islands and shall be able to obtain clinical privileges to practice medicine with the applicable MTF credentials committee Board Certification: Shall possess and maintain current certification as Nurse Practitioner and be eligible for employment per AR 40-48, Non Physician Health CareProviders Experience: Must have a minimum of one years' experience in general medicine setting, for Hematology/Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant Service Physician Assistants, primary care and/or Oncology background preferred but not required, for Nephrology Physician Assistants, primary care and/or Nephrology background preferred but not required You will love being part of the Matrix family of Providers whose focus since day one has been selflessly giving back to our hard-working and devoted military servicemen and women.
