Job Description:
--Develops and maintains relationships with Foodservice
Distributors in geographic zone to drive key strategies and tactics
of the Foodservice Distributor Operating Plan. Manages Broker
relationship in local markets as well as assigned Regional Brokers
in Zone to ensure execution of the Foodservice Distributor channel
operating plan. Manages Business Development Manager to ensure that
Regional Chains, Large Leverage Operators and Key Segments are
targeted in geographic zone.Duties and
Responsibilities:Communicates frequently with existing and targeted
customer base to provide relevant market intelligence, offer ways
to leverage CHG product portfolios, culinary and R&D support to
help the customer or potential customer profitably grow their
business.-- Demonstrates CHG products at Food Shows in geographic
zone.Leads product incident response with accounts in geographic
zoneConducts regular business reviews with existing and target
Distributors.Works closely with the Director of Corporate
Distributors to execute Corporate Distributor product approvals
with local distributors in geographic zone.Works closely with the
Director of Non-Comm to execute Compliance and gain distribution
with local distributors in geographic zone.Makes cold calls from
the prospect list to key decision makers in order to pursue
opportunities for CHG product lines.Submits samples for current and
new product opportunities.Responsible for determining and achieving
annual sales budget for geographic zone.Assists with training of
Business Development Managers as it relates to menu analysis,
customer's operational capabilities and to identify new product
opportunities.--Ensures Business Development Manager develops and
focuses on key targeted accounts and segments in geographic
zone.--Works with Business Development manager to update targeted
account list and key segment focus semi-annually.Accompanies
Business Development Managers at least semi-annually to help drive
new product approvals and placements with targeted account
list.Clear and direct communication with CHG departments especially
Corporate Accounts Marketing.-- Other departments include Quality
Assurance, Customer Service, Purchasing, R & D and
Culinary.Develops thorough understanding of target operators to
ensure our products and services meet their specific business
needs.Manages projects with R & D and Marketing team to expedite
new business development.Secures new product capability
presentations with targeted Chain Accounts.Actively participates in
all Foodservice Sales Meetings.Executes all required paperwork in a
timely fashion.Maintains Zone opportunity pipeline
updated.Coordinates work with Culinary Support manager to ensure
alignment and support for the BDM in the zone.Actively participates
in monthly broker review sessions to track performance of the
broker in general and specifically on agreed upon priorities for
the zone.Publishes a monthly zone business review document that
includes monthly and YTD performance by sub-class vs. last year and
plan, key business wins and losses, key Operator opportunities,
broker performance notes and general commentary about drivers for
wins, losses and performance of the zone.--Minimum Job
Requirements:Education/Certifications: College degree preferredHigh
School degree or equivalent experience required.--Culinary or Sales
related accreditation a plus.Must possess valid driver's
license.Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in
Foodservice Sales Management.Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint.Proficient in use of Microsoft Outlook.Demonstrated
leadership and possesses the ability to develop interdepartmental
relationships.Strong verbal and written communication
skills.Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of
associates and customers ranging from entry level to executive
level positions.Ability to work with multiple departments including
but not limited to Cost Accounting, Operations, Purchasing, R & D,
Culinary, Quality Assurance, and Information Services, both
internally and externally.Ability to manage multiple tasks, often
with competing deadlines.Ability to prioritize projects and clearly
communicate direction internally and externally.Supervisory
Responsibilities:Supervises, mentors and conducts performance
reviews with Business Development Manager for geographic
zone.Working Conditions and Physical Effort:Home Office
environment.Light physical effort.-- Requires standing, sitting,
walking, talking, seeing, hearing, fine dexterity, and handling of
average-weight objects up to 50 pounds.
