Job Description Job Description The Business Solutions Placement
Specialist is responsible for working with local employers to
secure paid work opportunities, externships, and internships for
GCT clients. Role and Responsibilities The Business Solutions
Placement Specialist will identify job leads and negotiate job
opportunities with employers for GCT clients, graduates of GCTC and
Excel Center. Listen to employer needs and learn about their
business so you can provide a clear and concise plan of value to
assist them with workforce needs. Advocate on behalf of GCT target
populations, educating Central Texas employers on workforce
opportunities. The Business Solutions Placement Specialist will
assess client skills and job readiness allowing for optimum
placements that meet the needs of both the client and employer.
Effectively instruct and direct activities of the client related to
employment applications, interviews. Performance will be monitored
by the number of employers identified, number of interviews
secured, and number of job placements made each month. Maintain
priority placement ratios within our four targeted populations.
Maintain accurate, relevant, and timely information on both
employer and clients in the appropriate data base(s). Consistently
contribute to the success of departmental and organizational
meeting placement objectives and success metrics. Meets mandatory
yearly training hours’ requirement for this position. Attend staff
and other organizational meetings as required by Business
Solutions. Demonstrates ethics and complies with Corporate
Compliance Program Other duties as requested by the Placement
Supervisor or leadership team. Supervisory Responsibility This
position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Required
Skills Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, with at
least two years of experience in business development, workforce
development, or social service role. Experience working in a social
service setting, with a solid understanding of how to connect
individuals from diverse backgrounds to workforce opportunities.
Strong ability to develop business relationships and negotiate
potential contracts. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and
Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the
ability to effectively engage and influence Business Partners.
Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple
priorities. Knowledge of Goodwill services and community resources,
with solid networking skills. Proven ability to develop and
maintain relationships with external business partners and clients.
Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment and demonstrate
problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license and proof of valid
insurance. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual. Demonstrated
knowledge, skills and abilities in the Americans with Disability
Act. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at
times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and
talk or hear. The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels
of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required
by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception
