Responsibilities
OBXtek is looking for a Software License Manager to fill an opening
at Lackland AFB. The overall project mission is to have expert
support to assist in maintaining the integrity, continuity and
daily administration of DHA IT support organizations. - The role of
the Software License Manager is to support and maintain computer
systems, desktops, and peripherals. The person will also
troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and
provide end user training and assistance where required.
Responsibilities:
The Software License Manager's role is to monitor and respond to
complex hardware, software and network problems utilizing a variety
of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
Provide primary interface with vendor support service groups or
provide internal analysis and support to ensure appropriate
notification during outages or period of degraded system
performance.
- Provides support for customers In and Out Processing the Unit
for software license management, approximately 500 personnel
annually.
- Provides Training/Awareness on software license management
related policies and procedures to approximately 900 users
annually.
- Maintains documentation/program management of approximately
14,500 software licenses.
- Performs audit of installed software programs on each end user
device monthly.
- Performs software license inventory quarterly.
- Provides self-inspection checklist on software license Project
Management quarterly.
- Distributes software licenses, installs, and removes software
as required approximately1000 tickets per year.
- Coordinates new software requests approximately 100 per year.
Submits request for purchase to PM upon approval when
required.
- Resolves instances of licensing overages approximately 100 per
year.
- Selects or recommends multi-user software that meets common
user requirements, integrates (where possible) with existing
software.
- Register organization ownership of licensed COTS software and
ensure an annual inventory is conducted of all licensed COTS
software in the organization. Use a metering mechanism if licensed
for server-hosted, concurrent-user application software to prevent
exceeding the authorized number of copies and users.
- Maintains library of current scripts, software media, licenses,
and documentation and make this library available to the
Government.
- Will serve as an alternate IT Technician.
- Monitors and responds to hardware, software, and network
problems utilizing hardware and software testing tools and
techniques.
- Provides customer assistance support in setting up
microcomputers and/or installing software packages, when
required.
- Operates the computer consoles; following prescribed scheduled
work sheet instructions. Responds to basic console message error
halts and report unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel.
Isolates causes of machine stops or malfunctions and initiates
corrective action to fix and prevent future problems.
Qualifications
Must be a US citizen, have an active NACLC/T3 (Secret) Clearance
and CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Five (5) years of experience in technical discipline and
Technical/Functional skills.
- Three (3) years of experience with AF Software License
audits.
- Two (2) years of experience working in multi- team,
multi-vendor setup for ensuring software compliance.
- Five (5) years of experience in responding to customer requests
with an emphasis on customer satisfaction, and problem
resolution.
- Five (5) years of experience with customer service principles
and practices.
- Five (5) years of knowledge in the use of PCs, Microsoft Office
applications, and the Remedy Service Desk tool is required.
- Local travel is required, must have a valid driver's
license.
- Experience working in a federal government contracting
environment.
- Proven ability to prioritize, self-direct and execute at
velocity.
- Solid communication skills with both technical and
non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate proficiently (both verbally and in
written form) to senior officials and others.
- Due to a customer requirement, as a condition of employment for
this position, the successful candidate will be required to obtain
and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to commencing
employment.
