Position : Accountant Location : San Antonio, TX Duration : 6 Months Total Hours/week : 40.00 Client: Medical Device Company Job Category: Accounting/Finance Level of Experience: Mid-Level Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens or GC Holders Only) Must Haves: Experience using SAP and Fixed Assests. Note: While this role may begin remotely, candidate may be onsite at some point. Job Description: General Functions Reporting to a Fixed Assets Team Lead, this position is responsible for supporting a mix of large and small business units. This includes preparing and posting various monthly, quarterly and yearly fixed assets transactions and entries as well as performing the necessary reporting for each of these businesses. Main Responsibilities: Responsible for interacting and communicating with the respective stakeholders in order to facilitate any special operating and/or reporting requirements. Facilitating stakeholder meetings to discuss the operational and policy changes, providing guidance and answering questions. Facilitating training and providing oversight of new hires, contract workers and Fixed Assets team members and preparing training materials as necessary. Participating in SOX testing and Internal and External audits. Reviewing sample selections and supporting documentation to assist auditors with Client Assistance List. Leading and facilitating special project and project deliverables. Overseeing the Fixed Assets functions and reviewing processes for any process improvements. Responsible for performing ERP testing, providing documentation of testing results and training team members on system enhancements as necessary. Responsible for being the liaison between departments and business units and management to make sure any changes in the processes related to process improvement, company organizational changes or system enhancements are appropriately aligned. Provide guidance and assisting team members in resolving issues in complex and escalated situations. Responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly roll forwards for balance sheet and fixed assets sub ledger accounts. Analyzing any discrepancies and aging related to Fixed Assets transactions and resolving any outstanding items. Responsible for preparing quarterly and year-end reporting requirements such as Q5 quarterly tax reports, tax bonus depreciation. Assisting in the preparation of ad-hoc reports as necessary. Position Requirements: Education BA / BS Degree in Business, in Accounting Experience • 5-7 years’ experience in Accounting Skills (Required): Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical / problem solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Superior customer service skills Knowledge and Skills: Ability to work independently and in a team environment Process Improvement Project Management experience is a plus Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Direct experience in SAP Experience working in a regional shared service environment
