Attorney - Local Government Law Specialist Position Overview We are

skilled Municipal Attorney with a passion for public service and
deep expertise in local government law. This role offers the
opportunity to work closely with municipalities across Texas,
providing strategic legal counsel on a wide range of complex and
high-impact issues including land use, zoning, governance, and
regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities - Serve as general
counsel to cities, villages, towns, and special districts, advising
elected officials, administrators, and department heads. - Draft,
negotiate, and review municipal ordinances, resolutions,
development agreements, intergovernmental agreements, and
procurement contracts. - Represent municipal clients in
administrative hearings, circuit court litigation, and appellate
proceedings. - Provide legal guidance on open meetings, public
records, ethics, and statutory compliance under Texas law. - Advise
on land use planning, zoning code enforcement, conditional use
permits, variances, and comprehensive plan implementation. -
Support clients in navigating state and federal regulatory
frameworks, including DNR, DOT, and PSC matters. - Monitor
legislative and regulatory developments impacting local governments
and proactively advise clients on implications. - Facilitate public
hearings, board meetings, and workshops, often serving as the legal
voice in real-time decision-making. - Collaborate with internal
teams and external stakeholders to resolve disputes through
negotiation, mediation, or litigation. Qualifications - Juris
Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. - Active license to
practice law in Texas (or ability to obtain promptly). - Minimum 3
years of experience in municipal law, land use, or public sector
legal practice. - Strong legal drafting and analytical skills, with
a focus on clarity and precision in public documents. - Proven
ability to manage multiple client relationships and deliver
responsive, solution-oriented counsel. - Experience with public
finance, redevelopment, or environmental law is a plus. -
Commitment to professional development and contributing to a
positive, team-based culture. - For this position, you must be
