Litigation Paralegal Position: Paralegal Department: Litigation
Days/Hours: Monday – Friday / 08:00 - -05:00 P.M. Job Summary We
are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Litigation
Paralegal to support complex personal injury and commercial
litigation matters. This position will work directly with the
Managing Attorney and Firm and will oversee case progression from
filing through trial. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented,
deadline-driven, experienced in Texas civil procedure, and capable
of supervising junior paralegals and support staff. This role
requires strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and
the ability to independently manage complex litigation matters in a
fast-paced environment. Essential Functions Litigation & Case
Management · Manage and track all litigation deadlines in
compliance with the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and
court-specific docket control orders. · Draft, prepare, and file
pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, Rule 11
agreements, notices, and subpoenas. · Coordinate service of process
and monitor returns. · Prepare cases for depositions, mediations,
hearings, and trial. · Assist in trial preparation including
exhibit lists, witness lists, trial notebooks, and demonstrative
evidence. · Review and analyze discovery responses for completeness
and deficiencies. · Coordinate document production and manage large
record sets. · Prepare mediation packages and settlement demands. ·
Obtain and organize medical, billing, employment, and business
records. · Draft professional correspondence to clients, opposing
counsel, courts, and experts. · Maintain organized electronic and
physical case files. Supervision & Leadership · May supervise
junior paralegals, litigation assistants, and case managers. ·
Review outgoing pleadings and discovery for accuracy and
completeness. · Train staff on litigation procedures, deadlines,
and file management systems. · Ensure firm compliance with court
deadlines and internal workflow systems. · Coordinate with support
staff case completeness before demands are made, mediations, and/or
trial. Client & Attorney Support · Provide weekly and/or monthly
case updates for clients. · Maintain consistent communication with
clients regarding case progression. · Keep Managing Attorney and/or
Owner informed of all case developments. · Coordinate and calendar
depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances as per
Firm Policy. · Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
as needed or required by Firm. Investigation & Analysis · Conduct
public records research and online investigations. · Assist with
complex case strategy preparation. · Analyze contracts, corporate
records, and insurance policies when applicable. · Assist with
expert coordination and case chronology preparation. Administrative
& Systems · Maintain litigation calendar with redundancy
safeguards. · Utilize case management software efficiently. ·
Ensure strict confidentiality of client information. · Perform
additional duties as assigned. Education / Knowledge / Licensure ·
Paralegal Certification required. · Associate’s or Bachelor’s
Degree preferred. · 5 years litigation experience preferred. ·
Strong knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Bexar County
court procedures. · Trial preparation experience required. Skills &
Competencies · Strong leadership and supervisory ability. ·
Advanced understanding of litigation workflow and court procedures.
· Exceptional writing, proofreading, and document drafting skills.
· Ability to independently manage multiple complex cases. ·
Superior organizational and deadline management skills. · High
attention to detail. · Professional demeanor with strong
interpersonal communication skills. · Ability to work under
pressure in a deadline-driven environment. · Fluent in Spanish
(written and verbal) – REQUIRED. · Strong technology skills
(Microsoft Office, Adobe, e-filing systems, case management
software). Experience · 5 years of litigation experience required.
· Experience handling personal injury cases in both pre-litigation
and litigation phases. · Experience in commercial litigation is
strongly preferred. · Experience supervising support staff
