Reports to: Logistics Section Chief

Status (Pay Grade): Non-Exempt - Full Time (Non-Virtual)

Minimum Qualifications: Experience managing medical inventory for a medical supply distribution company or large hospital system with focus on rapid receipt and distribution of items, kitting of DME and CME items, and medical supply ordering. Logistics and resource management in disaster response,

deployment and demobilization efforts as well as supply chain


Preferred Qualifications: Operational knowledge in the Incident Command System with completed courses in ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 to maintain IMT status. Served a logistics role in at least one (1) local, state or federally declared disaster.

Critical Action Items:

  1. Advanced knowledge of medical supplies and equipment related to patient care in a disaster medical shelter or emergency medicine setting, and their proper receipt, storage, and issuance.

  2. Responsible for maintaining response readiness of all Ambulances and Medical Caches as well as updating inventory lists to effectively respond as an all-hazards response model.

  3. Work with BCFS HHS EMD Ambulance Administrator to ensure certifications are maintained and units are prepared for inspections regularly.

  4. Maintain an accurate inventory of all medical assets and working knowledge of inventory systems utilized for catalogue, expiration dates, tracking and maintenance schedule of BCFS HHS EMD assets, to include

response operations.

  1. Responsible for ordering medical supplies and equipment during response activations or special projects as directed by BCFS HHS EMD Leadership.

  2. Provide inventory reports to personnel as needed to assist with inventory/cost requests for items utilized throughout the BCFS System and during BCFS HHS EMD activations.

  3. Coordinate with Logistics, Operations, and Plans to ensure that equipment packaging is reflective of deployment needs and items are kitted for rapid deployment.

Measurable Deliverables:

  1. Maintain medical inventory tracking processes to consistently provide an accurate snapshot of any/all assets currently in the EMD Warehouse or assigned to an event.

  2. Provide any documentation or other requirements as necessary to maintain certifications necessary to perform job functions.

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager the demobilization of logistics resources in the aftermath of emergency operations, including return of medical equipment and supplies, equipment status, and update of Ambulance and Medical Cache inventories.

  2. Remain available and able to assist with ad hoc projects related to EMD and other BCFS divisions, as directed and assigned.

  3. Remain adaptable to schedule adjustments and possible travel related to impromptu projects arising from anywhere within the BCFS System and/or emergency response area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Maintain an acceptable attendance record; minimum hours are 40 hours a week (5-8hr work days), 0700 to 1600. Schedule to be flexible to ensure prescheduled events are managed appropriately.

  2. Remain adaptable to schedule adjustments and possible travel related to impromptu projects arising from anywhere within the BCFS System or response area.

  3. Move equipment up to 50 lbs. of weight safely and properly.

  4. Work in outdoor weather conditions for sustained periods of time.

  5. Use both mechanical and non-mechanical equipment to safely transport supplies and equipment (e.g.,

forklift, pallet jacks, and hand trucks).

  1. Navigate safely throughout industrial environments (e.g., warehouses, equipment yards) and natural terrain.

  2. Sustain physical activity for extended periods as required.

  3. Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, WebEOC and other programs and applications as

they relate to inventory maintenance and coordination.

  1. Strong working knowledge of purchasing, contract management, vendor relations, and asset management.

  2. Highly organized with attention to detail.

  3. Must be available to work long deployment assignments lasting months at a time at various locations

nationally and internationally in an austere environment.

  1. Must acquire and maintain current US Passport for potential international assignments.

  2. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, resourceful and able to work with minimal supervision.

  3. Ability to work in a high-volume environment, under pressure, and with tight deadlines.

  4. Ability to demonstrate strong leadership and work ethics in a variety of situations.

  5. Possess a valid driver's license and work eligibility status.

  6. Understand and adhere to chain of command.
