Job Description:

The Quality Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the Quality Department. Responsible for managing the quality functions, personnel, related training, and deployment of standard practices for Service Center/Repair Station and related services. Position has authority over airworthiness quality certification and is responsible for facility compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Responsible for overall QMS for the business operations of the site * Accountable for the quality analytics and reporting: COQ, QMS, tracking and compliance, customer satisfaction and operational metrics * The Quality Manager role is the interface and content expert for company matters that affect compliance, quality, and scorecard reporting or customer-driven metrics * Be responsible for government, regulatory, and contractual compliance of products & services for internal and external customers * Ownership and Maintenance of procedures applicable to civil aviation regulatory requirements in addition to those of AS9100, such as 14 CFR Part 21 "Certification Procedures for Products and Articles" * Develop and oversee training programs across business, ensuring continuous improvement of the business core competencies * Attract and retain talent, build a strong quality team, instill quality culture and promote proactive approach on issue resolution * Ensure the proper management of the team under your responsibility in line with company standards, policies and guidelines * Ensure that the quality management system conforms to the requirements of AS9100 * Ensure that the processes are delivering their intended outputs * Report on the performance of the quality management system and on the opportunities for improvement, in particular to top management * Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization * Ensure that the integrity of the quality management system is maintained when changes to the quality management system is planned and implemented * Other duties as required to support the needs of the business

Requirements:

* Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. * Proven years of technical quality management experience, preferably in the aviation field, with a minimum of 2 years in a role overseeing direct reports * Demonstrated ability in a leadership position to successfully drive a team * Demonstrated history of leading, developing and mentoring team in a fast paced environment * Willingness and ability to travel occasionally if required * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills * Experience in a manufacturing environment * Good communication skills, attention to detail and excellent attendance record is a must * Must be responsive with department personnel/associates to promote a team environment * Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s) * Ongoing FAA testing and training required * MTI is a safety sensitive manufacturer. As such, successful results of pre-employment FAA drug testing will be required.

Desired Characteristics:

* Strong experience in: Nadcap, ISO9001, AS9100, FAR145 Repair station * Experience in a repair environment * FAA certification preferred such as certified repairman, inspection designee, designated engineering representative or other FAA or FAA designee position * FAA Airframe and Powerplant License * Strong EH&S background and Hazwoper trained * Strong financial, quantitative and data analysis skills * Internal audit experience * Proficiency in GD&T and SPC

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand occasionally, use hands and arms, utilize common office computers and hardware, and communicate effectively in an office environment. There will be occasions where working in the shop will be required in order to accomplish tasks. The employee must frequently lift/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
