Winter Seasonal Pool - Seasonal Position - September 2021 through March 2022

 

* Candidate must be able to work full time ( 36 Hrs. Min) for

the duration of the Winter Pool

 

* Full time Seasonal employees will be eligible for a Monthly Housing Stipend through the duration of the seasonal position.

    MSICU is a 13 bed unit with the management of patients with acute critical care needs.  MSICU allows for the opportunity        to care for patients with multi-organ diseases.  Examples of patients seen on the unit include:

  •  
  • Sepsis, Acute Respiratory Failure, ARDS, Acute Renal Failure, Acute Pancreatitis, DKA, GI Bleed, and Ischemic Stroke
  • Lobectomy, Thoracotomy, Esophagectomy, Colo-rectal, Laparoscopic surgeries
  • Great environment for learning about multiple disease processes that will provide a pathway for professional growth and development in nursing in support to strive to become nationally certified such as CCRN
  • Unit culture thrives on diversity and collaboration across multiple teams dedicated to support and nurturing of every member on the unit

What You Will Do In Your Role:

 

  • You will consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients.
  • You will collaborate with the patient care team to achieve quality patient outcomes
  • You will provide communication, confidence, and professionalism as evidenced by active engagement in unit and organizational activities
  • You will demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and serving as a resource to the patient care team      
  • You will have accountability for delivering quality nursing care services and for promoting a positive image of nursing

Qualifications

What qualifications you will need: 

 

  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program. 
  • Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification and ACLS
