Emergency Management Team Reservist

Job Description:

An employer is seeking Incident Management Team Reservists to join their Emergency Response Division in a responder capacity during incident response efforts. The IMT Reservist will be requested to deploy to various locations as needed within 12 hours and is expected to work 12-hour shifts for 14-21 consecutive days. Must maintain physical and mental health characteristics that allow for efficient performance in emergency settings under tight deadlines. Must be able to work in a team environment, or as a single resource with limited supervision. Must possess excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate in a variety of formats. Must have strong incident management skills, including practical application of appropriate ICS protocols to ensure effective utilization of personnel and equipment resources. The IMT Reservist will need strong Emergency operations familiarity, critical thinking/problem solving skills, High levels of written and verbal communications, organizational and time management, data analysis, protocol and training material development, and experience with personnel management.

Bachelors Degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Administration or related field.

Experience using WebEOC incident information management software is preferred.

Additional acquired or demonstrated skillsets will be taken into consideration including but not limited to - technical writing, relevant military service, public safety experience (law enforcement, fire, EMS), and more.
Bachelors Degree in Related field and a Minimum of 3 years full-time experience in Emergency Management and Incident Management deployment working in compliance of ICS protocols (7 years experience without Bachelors)

National Incident Management System (NIMS) Certified, must demonstrate prior completion of Incident Command System training, including the following FEMA independent study and classroom-based courses:

o IS-100.c - Incident Command System

o IS-200.b - ICS for Single Resources

o IS-700.b - National Incident Management System

o IS-703.a - NIMS Resource Management

o IS-706 - NIMS Intrastate Mutual Aid

o IS-800.c - National Response Framework

o ICS-300 - Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents

o ICS-400 - Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff

Prior verifiable IMT deployment experience in any of the ICS Sections, or experience working in a related leadership position for government agencies in a responder capacity (Fire-Rescue, EMS, Law Enforcement, Public Health, Emergency Management or equivalent) during incident responses in a leadership/supervisory role

Must maintain readiness to deploy & travel within 12 hours of being activated

Must maintain physical and mental health characteristics that allow for efficient performance in emergency settings under tight deadlines

Must be able to work in high-pressure/high-stress settings in varied remote or austere environments for a minimum of 14 - 21 straight days
