Job Description:

Who We Are: Our team focuses on analytical support of petrochemical and renewable energy process research projects. The work includes testing and performance of lab developmental and experimental processes, utilization of specialized equipment, and fabrication of sophisticated, custom sampling systems. Objectives of this Role: Perform advanced engineering or scientific investigations assigned by more experienced researchers or management, normally as part of a project team, requiring an application of advanced theories, techniques, procedures, and concepts in carrying out a sequence of related tasksContributes ideas for improving project work processes.Supervise and performs advanced analyses and staff to check applicability, accuracy, and reasonableness of data.Serve as a leader for technical testing environments, on-site or remote labs, or other service or operating facility.Use the knowledge of scientific principles, analytical methodology, laboratory tasks, chemical materials, and tools associated with chemical laboratories.Contribute at a high level of experience.Communicate with professional staff and providing high-importance support to scientific and engineering and/or more senior project staff.Must be able to work well in team environment and work well independently.Grow into a position where you will be able to promote new work and sell add-on projects to clients. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Will be involved daily with more advanced work that requires a high attention to details and advanced instrument and analytical skills.Work closely with manager and project managers to address project experimental and analytical and training for project and staff requirements.Set up and perform tests according to laboratory procedures and specifications; modify analytical procedures and write work instructions, maintain a clean and organized work area; use and troubleshoot equipment as needed to carry out project work.Prepare written reports of work for presentation to clients.Assist in the preparation, presentation, and follow-up of research proposals.Communicate with professional staff and providing high-importance support to scientific and engineering and/or more senior technical project staff.Inspect laboratories to maintain a safe working environment and will report unsafe conditions; observe, monitor, and record instrumentation results during testing to ensure test parameters are maintained within test specifications. Requirements: Requires a Bachelors or a Masters with a 3.00 GPA in Chemistry with an Emphasis in physical or analytical chemistryMS requires 2 years, BS requires 3 yearsShift work required3 with BS, (2 with MS): Experience working with chromatography in commercial or research (nonacademic) settingMust be able to setup calibrations and quantification of raw data to resultsExperience using gas chromatograph in conjunction with mass spectroscopy and/or other detector typesExperience with pneumatic /electronic switching valves or ability to be trainedIon chromatographic experience or ability to be trainedMust know how to setup instruments and methodsExperience with computer software including Excel, Word, or Power PointExperience or an interest in projects involving hydrocarbons, distillation, wet chemistry, titrations, petroleum analytical equipmentSome projects may involve work in a pilot plant-type environment.Shift work may be required, as some projects are run 24 hours per day/7 days per week.A valid/clear driver's license is required Special Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR work in section.
