This is a virtual / 100% remote position based in the U.S. We are seeking an individual who can work Eastern Time Hours**

INTRODUCTION:

The People & Culture Generalist is skilled and passionate about supporting the HR functions within the organization. They will provide support for our team members through Empowered Education's policies and key procedures. This role will regularly contribute to and support critical activities that ensure equity and fair decision-making to make our organization the best place to work. They will need to be efficient, organized, and approachable and have a solid knowledge of various HR functions and administrative responsibilities. The People & Culture Generalist will possess the commitment, character, and skills to become part of our transformational team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the operations of bi-weekly employee payroll. Ensure all aspects of payroll are processed correctly and on time including timekeeping, payroll taxes, and benefit deductions. Audit payroll and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Supporting the maintenance of all human resources record-keeping systems to meet requirements for personnel, compliance, audit, workers' compensation, insurance, and legal claims.
Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process for contractors ensuring the process is up to date, providing clarity for all new & existing contractors.
Composure and confidentiality handling disciplinary and employee relations issues
Manage employee records in HRIS
Ability to support the generation of various reports and analyses including audit reports to verify the information.
Act as first-level contact for team members via the Freshdesk platform.
Assists with projects such as data and workflow management, performance and compensation administration, learning management reporting and acts as a liaison between Human Resources, Information Technology, Benefits, and Payroll to support HR projects.
Perform assignments where trust, discretion, and accuracy are required while maintaining confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment, and care.
Ensure organizational compliance with all policies and legal requirements
Function as an intermediary support for team members and third-party benefits administrator
Demonstrates ownership mindset in being accountable for delivering solutions to address opportunities identified
Actively supports audits/reviews and highlights discrepancies for resolution, in collaboration with departmental leadership
Support special projects and programs either on an ad-hoc or ongoing basis.
Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
Working knowledge of national benefits and applicable laws
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making
Strength of character, ethics, and commitment, and reliability
Superior attention to detail
Proven track record of maintaining employee confidentiality and consistent discretion
Able to work under pressure with strict deadlines, ability to pivot often, and be agile
Commitment to staying current on best practices, and the understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
Proficient in Google Suite, knowledge of HRIS systems and functionality
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Project management experience
