Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE: The Lead Clinician provides a combination of program oversight, staff supervision, and direct service provision for the Migrant Wellness Services Program. The Lead Clinician will provide treatment to migrants as well as directly supervise clinicians. The Lead Clinician will ensure that clinical staff is providing treatment in compliance with established protocol and policy. The Lead Clinician will have training and experience in trauma and post-traumatic stress and will be proficient in providing individual, couples, and family therapy. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 70% Meet regularly with clinical staff and program coordinators and keep abreast of current issues. Keep clinical staff informed of program information. Work with leadership to establish training and development plan for clinical staff. Hold regular clinical meetings, provides support and clinical supervision to clinicians.
  • 20% Ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance by reviewing client files. Provide ongoing program evaluation and recommendations to the Regional Manager and Program Director for continuous growth and quality. Produce ad hoc reports as requested. Attend administrative meetings.
  • 10% Provide direct service including treatment for migrant individuals and families. Performs and documents patient's screenings, psychosocial assessments, and progress and referral information. Conduct assessments as needed. Provide individual, couples, and family psychotherapy to patients as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required. Job Requirements:ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Master's degree and clinical license in the state where applying. LANGUAGE: Must be bilingual in English/Spanish and able to provide assessments in Spanish. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years of experience in a clinical setting. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Experience working with adults, children, couples, and families is required; Knowledge in DSM-IV/DSM-V diagnoses is required; Experience in PTSD diagnosis and treatment is required; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Must be highly organized and detail-oriented. LICENSES: LCSW-C, LCPC, or other clinical licenses that allows for supervision are required. VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice and possess a valid driver's license. OTHER: Operational needs may require occasional evenings or weekend supervision and client care. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others. EXCEPTIONS TO THESE CRITERIA MUST BE APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT HEAD. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral or written means. Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to veterans, their families, staff, clinic support personnel, funders, and the general public. Ability to make oral presentations. COMPOSURE: Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control in the midst of difficult circumstances and emergencies. Ability to respond in a professional manner in all situations. COMPUTER: Working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel; PowerPoint and Access a plus. DECISION MAKING: Ability to think analytically and evaluate the impact of case management recommendations. Ability to set work priorities and to evaluate and create solutions to work related problems. FINANCIAL: Strong math skills. NEGOTIATION: Ability to negotiate veterans or their family members down from stressful situations, potential threatening behaviors. Ability to persuade clients to make appropriate life decisions.
