Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is recruiting for a Hazardous Materials Specialist in San Antonio, TX.

Perform services in support of Hazardous Material management at Joint Base San Antonio. Includes HM product research, staff assistance visits, evaluation, and substitution recommendations; maintenance of HM control and/or tracking systems; maintenance of HM database or web-based management tools; development of compliance and P2 education and training materials; identifying and inventorying HM; support in the preparation of Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reports and other reports required by EPCRA; support of operations and management of the HAZMART Pharmacy (HAZMART) tracking activity; and, support of the Hazardous Materials Management Process (HMMP).

Assist as an Environmental Reviewer for Process Authorizations submitted in EESOH-MIS. This includes training and providing technical support to EESOH-MIS users, and when necessary, acting as the liaison to the EESOH-MIS help. Have the capability to generate reports and mine data as required by installation users. Assist in tracking users and ensuring all System Authorization Access Request (SAAR) forms are up-to-date, accurate, and properly approved by a government official. Perform an annual SAAR validation and report results to AFCEC. Track EESOH-MIS access by users in accordance with the security policy.

Create and deliver reports from EESOH-MIS and additional data sources for various regulatory reporting requirements and to maintain program and data quality. Specifically, compile all data necessary to accomplish EPCRA reporting. This shall include data for Tier I/II, and TRI/Form Rs. Support the pollution prevention program such as establishing inventories (annual volumes and on-hand) and reporting IAW 40 CFR 350-372, EPCRA, and EO 13834. Complete an EPCRA Section 313 inventory. Perform site visits, review methodology, assumptions, and calculations, and input data into the online Toxics Release Inventory Data Delivery System (TRI-DDS) in order to prepare the Form Rs. Experience with EPCRA Section 311/312 inventory Tier II Emergency and Hazardous Chemical Inventory forms and perform site visits, review methodology, assumptions, and EESOH-MIS inventory data in order to prepare the Tier II

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experienced with the new OSHA Standard GHS SDS Compliance policy
  • Knowledge of the segregation of flammables and corrosive materials
  • Proficient and experienced in public speaking to conduct training
  • Proficient in computer skills, customer service skills
