  POSITION SUMMARY:
  
  
  • 
    
  • The SCADA Specialist provides controls, communication and technical support for the EPICs Crude, Y-Grade and Purity SCADA system. Responsible for programming and maintaining Schneider Electric Geo SCADA HMI/AutoSol (ACM) and its server/network infrastructure. The role supports troubleshooting and improvement requests from Pipeline Operations and Controllers, and interfaces with Engineering teams to design and commission pipeline asset expansion.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    
    
    • 
      
    • Responsible for programming and maintaining ACM, Schneider Electric Geo SCADA, and its server/network infrastructure.
      
    • Configures, programs, maintains, and modifies Schneider Electric Geo SCADA software including SCADA system databases, alarming, and control strategies.
      
    • Builds and supports SCADA HMI screens according to Control Room Management guidelines and HMI Style Guide.
      
    • Integrate and manage SCADA database systems to historians, measurement/accounting systems, Leak Detection Systems, GIS, and other business intelligence systems for custom reporting and data analytics (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
      
    • Provides program maintenance support for SCADA host application software.
      
    • Supports a wide range of communications protocols including Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and device-specific drivers.
      
    • Troubleshoots and resolves any data or communication network issues including cellular, satellite, and radio.
      
    • Supports a wide range of communications protocols including Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and device-specific drivers.
      
    • Works in close collaboration with the IT Department in supporting and maintaining network system availability, reliability, and security.
      
    • Work with the Engineering Department, CRM, and Control Center on projects to determine points that need to be brought back into the SCADA system when performing SCADA integration of remote field sites.
      
    • Participate in detailed lineouts and point to point testing to meet regulatory requirements.
      
    • Work with field technicians in a real-time environment to troubleshoot data problems and communication problems between the remote PLC site and SCADA.
      
    • Configures and troubleshoots PLCs, RTUs, and data handoff devices.
      
    • Provides phone, email, and/or face-to-face end user support for SCADA application systems end users include Control Room Operations, field I&E/Operations, and corporate end users.
      
    • Maintains controls documentation such as controls narratives, HMI philosophy, and alarm philosophy.
      
    • Provide 24x7 support to the Control Center.
      
    • Other duties as required.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
      
      
      • 
        
      • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
        
      • 5+ years of experience with SCADA systems.

        REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
        
        
        • 
          
        • GeoScada and ACM experience is a plus but other Automation, EFM Collection or SCADA Systems experience will be considered.
          
        • Ability to read and interpret SCADA system-P&IDs or any Front-End Engineering Documents that define a SCADA system and integrated equipment.
          
        • Programming field PLC and RTU equipment including Emerson FB107 and ROC800 series, TotalFlow, SCADAPack and A-B ControlLogix.
          
        • Programming languages Function Block, Ladder Logic, Structured Text, ROC FST.
          
        • Reading schematics and process and instrumentation and process flow diagrams.
          
        • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and willing to learn.
          
        • Knowledge of file structures, data structures, graphics editors and scientific programming languages.
          
        • Must have excellent problem sensitivity, oral expression, selective attention, deductive and inductive reasoning, information ordering.
          
        • Independently prioritize work to handle multiple concurrent projects to achieve results.
          
        • Must be able to take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations, and field personnel.
          
        • This position will require traveling to field locations to interact with field staff and management as needed and may require overnight stays.
