Who We Are:We are R&D problem-solvers providing independent, premier services to government and industry clients; operating as a nonprofit since 1947 we work the public's best interest and toward the betterment of humankind, pushing the boundaries of science and technology to develop solutions.Objectives of this Role:Meet project goals by integrating existing COTS hardware/materials/sensors to create custom solutions.Design custom solutions to meet unique requirements not satisfied by available COTS items.Prepare for, support, and document field events such as prototype testing and client demonstrations.Seize opportunities to learn and grow technically and professionally in support of our clients' diverse technical needs.Contribute to the culture of safety and excellence within every project team.Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:Support all aspects of the design life cycle, including: initial concept design, peer review, client review, prototyping, lab/field testing, documentation, etc.Interface with engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure requirements of the system are successfully achieved in a timely manner.Prioritize and balance a diverse set of tasks for different projects simultaneously.Contribute to reports and presentations conveying design concepts, project status, and test results to managers, colleagues, and clients.Requirements:Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 25 years of experience or a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering Tech or related Technology degree with 0 years of experienceFAA Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot is preferredThose without a BS degree should have 25 years: CAD preferred, including: part and assembly modeling and tolerancing, producing technical drawings, exporting for various manufacturing processesKnowledge and/or experience with electromechanical design, prototyping, sensor integration, UAS technology, or roboticsFamiliarity with MATLAB and Python is preferredExcellent communication skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.) to effectively convey technical information is requiredA valid/clear driver's license is requiredPDN-993d60fc-9344-4c1a-993f-c322f783b74c
