POSITION SUMMARY
This position is part of the departmental leadership team that provides clinical supervision on a shift basis including: coordination and assignment of patient care; functions as a unit patient flow coordinator, facilitating admissions, discharges and transfers; coordinates unit staffing for next shift with the Director/Clinical Manager, Coordinator and/or House Officer; serves as a clinical and leadership resource and role model for the staff; provides supervisory input into department staff evaluations and performance reviews. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursingPREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nursing or advanced degree in a related fieldMINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year in an equivalent unitPREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 4 years in an equivalent unitREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered NursePREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: National Specialty CertificationREQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):Requirements are based on RN Job Description for Unit/Department or specialty.-BLS required for all units-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.-ACLS/TNCC, PALS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., Fetal Monitoring, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are required within the specified grace period noted in the RN job description for the assigned unit/department.-ENPC one time within 18 months of date of hire or transfer date into the Emergency Department.
