Technician I will provide enterprise support and assistance through
the research, development and testing of network software; project
implementation; coordination and implementation of software
upgrades to network fileservers and workstations; troubleshooting
network communications; network user setup; and maintaining the
integrity and security of the networks. Provides support to users
on various Information Technology platforms which includes, but is
not limited to, hardware support through troubleshooting,
maintenance, and installation; desktop application support
including installations, testing and user assistance; peripherals,
miscellaneous computer support needs as well as proprietary and
third-party software applications/interfaces. Assists, coordinates
and reports known issues to the administrator of the network and/or
Information Technology management. What you will be doing:Installs,
supports, and manages the hardware/software/network components;
responds to and develops solutions for computer failures and
complex technical problems in these areas to deliver a sound and
stable computing infrastructure.Participates in member
conversations by (a) communicating directly with users and servers
in gathering requirements information; (b) explaining technical
requirements for files and data communications; and (c)
coordinating on-site testing of data communication and software
customization. Consults with computer operations management,
supervisory staff, and various IT personnel, to ensure IT standards
for control, security, and recoverability are understood and
followed. Develops and tests data communications procedures for
links to members and data services; develops and tests interface
file handling procedures for links to members and data services;
develops and tests interface file handling procedures for data
moving between platforms, members, and media. Coordinates with
other IT Technical Support staff to ensure appropriate IT computing
standards are implemented and maintained. Manages software upgrades
to ensure compliance with standards and control procedures.
Collaborates with IT Network Systems staff to support the following
computing components: (a) enterprise hardware, (b) WAN/LAN
communications, (c) domain/AD infrastructure, (d) hot-site
hardware/software, and (e) office automation software.Assists IT
Programming Staff in on-site research of production problems and
training of supervisory staff on new procedures/software.Performs
other job related duties as assigned. What you'll bring along:
Four-year college or university degree in a computer related field.
3-5 years' of similar or related experience or have Network or
Systems Administrator certification.Must be familiar with Windows
operating systems, network/systems administration, SAN, VM
technology, and telephone system administrative experience is a
plus.Must be available to work overtime and Saturdays, as needed.
