Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technician to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, maintaining aseptic techniques and actively monitoring situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
• Prepare patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards and transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite.
• Position patients according to the type of surgery and identify and care for biological specimens.
• Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case.
• Work effectively as a member of the team caring for the patient, cooperating in team planning and execution, and maintaining a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment, and adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions for both patient and own safety in all patient care situations.
• Familiar with facility policy and procedure regarding decontamination, processing, and sterilization of all instruments and supplies that are processed within the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required.
  • 2 or more years of experience preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.Work ScheduleVariesWork TypeFull Time
