Job Description:

The HVAC Technician performs skilled installation, repair, maintenance, and modification of residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role supports the organization's mission by delivering high-quality service and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain various HVAC systems and equipment.


Perform electrical checks on three-phase 460-volt A/C units.


Replace air filters, pipe insulation, pumps, and perform routine maintenance.


Calibrate and adjust pneumatic and electronic control systems.


Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.


Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for installation and troubleshooting.


Maintain and adjust controls on heat pump systems.


Requisition necessary parts and supplies.


Adhere to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.


Assist with other maintenance tasks (e.g., work orders, make-readies) when HVAC needs are low.


Support emergency operations and participate in trauma-informed care and data governance initiatives.



Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required.


Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.


Licenses/Certifications:

EPA certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).


Valid Texas Class "C" driver's license with insurability.




Skills:

Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and pressure charts.


Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic and electronic HVAC controls.


Basic proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office applications.


Familiarity with cloud tools and diagram software (e.g., LucidChart, Visio) preferred.
