About The Opportunity

We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) with a zeal to win, a kind heart, an unwavering team spirit, a positive attitude and a great sense of humor to join our rapidly growing team. The SDR will be charged with building the sales pipeline to support our rapidly growing business. As an SDR, you will coordinate closely with our sales organization to support research and prospecting activities for new accounts to secure a steady flow of new qualified opportunities. The SDR very often has the first (and therefore the most important) opportunity to make a positive impression on a prospect, so you will be responsible for starting an experience that will set the stage for effective sales follow up. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with high energy, positive phone presence, have a team player mentality, and is willing to take coaching advice and apply it immediately. You will be a key player on an incredible team as we execute our mission to help local governments budget better.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Methodically source, prospect, educate and qualify new customer prospects via phone and email to create sales ready opportunities
  • Become a credible resource and develop trusted relationships with prospects
  • Collaborate with marketing to support successful outbound campaigns
  • Team closely with sales reps to research, nurture and penetrate new and target accounts
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections
  • Track any and all prospecting and lead management activities in CRM platform
  • Proactively look for opportunities to improve, optimize end-to-end lead management and other sales and marketing activities
  • Consistently achieve qualified opportunity quotas to ensure revenue objectives


    Critical Skills/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Superior pre-call planning, opportunity qualification and objection handling skills
    • Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding lead generation targets
    • Solid communication skills - both verbal and written
    • (or other CRM), Microsoft Office experience required
    • Proven ability to influence via indirect authority
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
    • Direct lead generation experience or internship in sales and/or lead generation a PLUS
    • Direct experience selling to government entities a PLUS
