Purpose of Job

Accountable for the overall strategy, direction, management, and delivery of the member experience, business deliverables, and distribution of products and services across all channels. Leads team of professionals responsible for the platforms, strategy, implementation, and monitoring of data-driven technology strategies surrounding their respective business and correlated technology domains. Manages complex and highly strategic technology projects to ensure the design, requirements, and execution are on track for successful deliver and creates strategic focus on world class member and employee experience, exceptional service and relationship building.

Job Requirements

  • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role
  • Ensures risk associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured monitored, and controlled
  • Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities
  • Accountable for directing and overseeing the creation of data-driven business and technology strategies that achieve operational objectives and ensure business and technology objectives are aligned with clear action plans to deliver solutions
  • Creates successful stakeholder relationships with business and IT leaders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, serving trusted advisor, and ensuring delivery of new solutions are in line with business needs
  • Ensures end-to-end process and technology solutions reflect the long-term strategy of the organization resulting in highly effective and efficient tools and workflows; partners with business and technology leaders to understand and manage risks, the impacts of changes, and provides input to aide in decision making within an Agile environment
  • Responsible for aligning functional teams to work across disciplines and channels to deliver on service expectations, production goals and profit targets to increase member value and optimize cost to serve
  • Influences cross-functional teams to make key decisions and apply line of business expertise in state-of-the-art technology domains to help drive solutions that align with bank strategy; leads team in driving product/capability solution sessions
  • Utilizing strategic and innovative thinking in business and technology solutions, develops a robust process improvement framework that includes the critical steps from concept visualization through implementation and leads process improvement initiatives and design thinking sessions that are needed to drive continuous achievement of a scalable, efficient, and compliant operating model
  • Manages execution of key process improvements that will drive higher productivity, adhere to the Risk Management Framework, and deliver an enhanced member experience
  • Proactively manages change through industry leading change management disciplines and ensures team structure and skillsets support the end-to-end Real Estate agile train structure for both business processes and technology solutions
  • Builds and oversees a team of professionals through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching, and support activities. Develops team strategies and roadmaps that align with strategic business objectives and ensures team have detailed objective goals Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree Minimum Experience:
      • 10 years of banking, credit union operations, or experience in a highly regulated financial services industry with knowledge of bank products, services, systems, technology, and regulatory compliance issues
      • 4 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams required
      • Comprehensive experience leading end-to-end technology initiatives through progressively increasing responsibility in roles such as technical product manager, software engineer, development manager, business analyst, or architect that includes experience in agile, innovation, problem solving, analytics and system design/ownership
      • Deep knowledge of business domain laws and regulations and applicable banking regulations and laws; to include a focus on risk management/compliance
      • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and supports the development of requirements, documentation, testing, and post-launch validations of solutions
      • Expert ability to recommend solutions and prioritize efforts using data and the business case/CBA developed within the team
      • Demonstrated ability to work within an agile framework and coach team on project management/agile best practices
      • Extensive experience leading across complex organizational lines and developing strategies and delivering results within a complex matrix structure
      • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate analysis to a non-technical audience and demonstrated ability to influence leaders across multiple disciplines and executive levels Preferred Qualifications:
        • 5 years of experience in technology delivery in a Mortgage Operation or related financial service
        • Demonstrated experience in large scale technology and business delivery
        • 10 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams
        • Highly analytical with experience leveraging different types of data to form hypotheses, test those hypotheses and ultimately build a recommended strategy
        • Strong strategic thinker with track record of developing and implementing strategies that thoughtfully consider and balance industry and competitive dynamics, customer insights and commercial implications Compensation:

          USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $135,200 - $243,500

          Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

          Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executives only representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based
